UPDATE February 2nd, 2019 Ahnu flew to foster home in Munich, Germany.
With us since September 13 , 2018.
When we saw Ahnu first time he was blind, deaf and was only one day old.
But lets go back to where the story begins. In September 2018 we were notified about stray and heavily pregnant husky living near army base. It took some time to make arrangements and collect her. We did not know when she was due to give birth, but from the way she looked we could tell it could happen any minute. We were almost on time and managed to collect mama and puppies the day after the puppies were born.
They were nothing like their mother from the day one. All black and you could barely see the difference between them. It worried us that they spent the first day in a cold ground, so from the very beginning the foster mom made sure that they have warm and clean environment.
This is how little Ahnu and his sisters stormed into our lives and as he was growing the feeling of worry was replaced by endless joy of watching him getting stronger, bigger and chubbier by hour.
As we are writing this Ahnu and his sisters are now a little bit over 2 months old and ready to find forever homes.
Unlike his boisterous sisters Ahnu is much calmer and quieter with lower levels of activity. He does have greater appreciation for food and sleep. We know that Ahnu is also a good swimmer ( after his sister Emily nudged him to the swimming pool. No damage was done, he was fished out immediately and he did enjoy being dried with a towel and hair dryer ).
At this young age he knows his name and does come when you call him. Ahnu is curious but cautious , intelligent and very relaxed by nature puppy. ( we even double checked with the vet if he is healthy, as the contrast between him and sisters is quite noticeable and the vet confirmed that he is healthy puppy).
Ahnu enjoys his carrots as chewing snacks, he also is socialized to be in the car, All puppies are used to loud noises and we have radio for them on all the time. He does seem to get bored during training sessions and so far the only one who did not learn to go down on cue, but that also could be that he is learning differently or little slower due to his relaxed nature… With individual attention he will do very well we believe.
So far he is still getting used to wearing harness and we try to create as much positive associations with wearing harness and walking on the lead as possible, but it is still work in process.
Ahnu is a little darling, with the softest kindest look in his beautiful puppy eyes. We know that this boy is a little treasure and we wish he would find a home where he will be loved and happy!
