*** Adopted in The Netherlands in November 2017 ***
Lilou (now Michi) has been with us for over two years. When she was surrendered her owner did not even suspect that poor Michi was suffering for years from Patella Luxation. Luckily, she was operated and she is fine now. She will never make a sled dog, but she will make the best friend you can dream of. We think she is Malamute/Husky cross. Cat friendly, kids friendly, fantastic with other dogs, loves people. Michi is not coping with the heat in Cyprus at all, so she would benefit from living in colder climate for sure. She is in the same kennels as Cesar, and despite them having royal conditions (for Cyprus standards), such as airconditioning, the best quality food, inspection by the vet every day, walks etc, the price is outside our current financial possibilities. No dog should wait that long, especially such a sweetheart as Lilou. She is an escape artist, attention seeker, sweet like a chocolate candy. It is very easy to fall in love with her.
With us since August 2015.
Update
We finally can say that little girl is doing so much better after her surgeries. The recently operated leg is still stiff and you still can see a big scar on the back leg, but this all will go away one day. She must love swimming as tried to jump into a fountain during the walk.
Sweetheart needs as much help as possible. Due to lack of space she and Cesar are in a quite expensive kennel, which is of course worth all the money, as dogs have a/c, vet check up and best quality food. But what Lilou really needs is HOME!
Update Sept. 7., 2017
She is already neutered, fully vaccinated and ready to go to her forever home any time.
Michi is the longest resident of our rescue. She became homeless as a result of couple splitting up. Then she wandered from one home to another. Michi is typical example of how people go after the way the dog looks, but they don’t think much about breed requirements.
Also, Michi is a result of back yard breeding, so she came to us with the entire bouquet. Dislocated knees on both back legs (were operated), enlarged third eyelids that were overgrowing both eyes and she could not see and small eye opening that was also surgically fixed. Basically two years that she is with us she is undergoing unpleasant but necessary medical procedures… But she is a darling and she is still enjoying her life to the fullest in her foster family in The Netherlands. Time passes though and every dog, even the one in foster home, deserves eventually to get a home of her own.
